To conveniently serve your need the bank provides three primary box size small, medium and large. These may be rented for short or longer periods depending on your need, the rental periods provided are three months, six months, one year and two years.

  • What is a safe deposit box?

    ​A safe deposit box is a storage facility that allows customers to safe keep valuable or important possessions inside locked and enforced box in a secure area in selected NCB branch.

  • What can I store inside a safe deposit box?

    ​The safe deposit box service is provided to enable you to safe keep document, jewelry, precious gems and stones, gold and silver bars in addition to bank note currencies excluding Saudi Riyal.

  • What is the rental fee for a safe deposit box?

    ​The rental fee of a safe deposit box varies based on the rental period and safe deposit box size required it varies from SAR 81 to SAR 2,850. Details of box size and rental period are provided in the “fee table".

  • What is the allowed rental period of the service?

    ​Customers may rent a safe deposit box for a period of 3, 6, 12 or 24 months depending on their need.

  • Is it necessary to visit the branch prior to end of rental period?

    ​If a customer wishes to renew their contract, the system will automatically collect due fees. However, if a customer does not wish to renew the contract they must return key/s given at rental, empty the safe deposit box and sign an end of contract form.

  • Is the safe deposit box available in different sizes?

    ​There are five safe deposit box sizes available. However this varies based on boxes available in the branch. The sizes available are extra small, small, medium, large and extra-large. The most commonly available across all branches is the small, medium and large size.

  • What are the requirements to rent a safe deposit box?

    ​The customer must have an active current account relationship with the bank and a valid Saudi ID or Iqama.

  • Can I authorize someone else to access my safe deposit box?

    Yes, but you must visit the branch with the authorized person to sign a delegation of authority form to allow the delegated person access to your safe deposit box.

  • What is the requirement of a person to be authorized to access my safe deposit box?

    ​The authorized person must maintain a current account relationship with NCB. To access the authorized box they must possess the safe deposit key.

  • What time can I access my safe deposit box?

    ​You may access your safe deposit box at any time during normal working hours.

  • Can I access the box myself?

    ​No, as part of the security measure safe deposit boxes are opened with two keys. The customer’s key and bank’s master key. This dual access is to ensure that the bank conducts security checks before allowing access to any safe deposit box. 

  • If I lost a key/s what should I do to access my box?

    ​Visit the branch and report the lost key, the bank will charge a SAR 950 fee for breaking and replacing the box lock. The bank will then set an appointment for you to attend when the lock will be broken and replaced.
