Privatization & PPP
The Saudi National Bank, in cooperation with the National Center for Privatization & PPP, hosted the first virtual forum for major investors in the Kingdom, during which it reviewed the most important aspects of the privatization system emanating from the Saudi Vision 2030, the role of the center and targeted sectors for privatization, and the investment opportunities offered in the field of privatization with the participation of, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi National Bank, Ammar AlKhudairy.
The bank's hosting of the Investors Forum for privatization is an affirmation of its continued support for privatization initiatives in achievement of the Saudi Vision 2030. This comes in light of the continued economic growth and development plans progression in the Kingdom.
The forum had great attention from the investors and executives of major local companies, and witnessed many paperwork and discussions that resulted in the creation of direct communication channels with local investors to raise their contribution to privatization initiatives.
Current and future investment opportunities and partnerships between the public and private sectors were presented in the forum. The forum highlighted the investment opportunities in targeted sectors for privatization and the advantages and capabilities of these sectors for local investors. The forum also discussed many investment opportunities in the health, education and transportation sectors, in addition to the environment, water, agriculture, municipalities, human resources, social development and customs sectors. The most important components of these targeted sectors were also highlighted.
The forum discussed legal frameworks and legislations, contracting mechanism, proposed projects expected to be launched during the year 2021, communication mechanisms and stimulating local and international tours with the aim of enhancing economic opportunities, strategic expansions, sustainability and creating an investment climate in the Kingdom in order to achieve sustainable economic development.
It is noteworthy that the privatization initiatives and projects aim to create more job opportunities and improve the quality of service provided to citizens, in addition to raising the operational efficiency of government services. The National Center for Privatization & PPP works on supporting and implementing these initiatives and projects in cooperation with the supervisory committees of the targeted sectors for privatization.
