Supporting and developing the health sector in the Kingdom is one aspect of the social service that receives the special attention of the Bank in response to the national duty. NCB's contribution in this area can be summerized through three programs:

  • AlAhli Medical Equipments Program
  • AlAhli Medical Units Program
  • AlAhli Health Awareness Program

AlAhli Medical Equipment Program

The main and first mission of this program is to support non-profit health institutions which provide free medical treatment to patients, whether they are government hospitals and health centers or those affiliated with charitable associations, support and develop their services, contribute to increasing their accommodation capacity, and help them enhance the level of service provided to the patients.   Since inception, this program endeavored to contribute to meeting the needs of the Kingdom for kidney dialysis apparatus.  

Starting from 2006 till the end of 2010, the distribution of 193 kidney dialysis apparatus was actually approved in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prince Fahd Bin Salman Association for the Care of Patients With Renal Failure to 31 government hospitals in 27 cities around the Kingdom.

 

AlAhli Medical Units Program

This program focuses on the emergency (first aid) capacity development at the medical facilities in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent, through

  ·       Intensive Care Ambulance Project:

The goal of this program is preparing mobile intensive care units to serve patients residing within the boundary of a certain region.  Since 2006 till the end of 2010, it was approved to provide the Saudi Red Crescent with seven sophisticated ambulances specially designed for intensive care were distributed in four region in the kingdom.

·         Baby incubators Project:

This program was lunched in 2010, as result of collaboration between NCB, ministry of heath and Neonatal Medicine organization 5 incubators were installed in Wady AlDawaser hospital.

 

AlAhli Health Awareness Program 

The program aims at raising the health awareness among all segments of the society in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent Society in order to upgrade the readiness of citizens to deal with emergency situations.  Since the start of the program in 2007 till the end of 2010, 32,002 people, received this training in 15 cities around the Kingdom under the supervision of specialists in this filed.  Each trainee received a certificate of the course in addition to an integrated briefcase complete with first aid kit provided by NCB to the graduates of these courses.
