A-        Nothing is more important to us than the confidentiality and integrity of our customers' personal information and account data. The Internet site provides private, secure communications. The confidential account information and transactions are secured (encrypted) with the latest Netscape Secure Commerce Server technology. Additionally, members are required to access their account using one of the latest secure browsers such as Netscape Navigator (version 4.06 or higher) or Microsoft's Internet Explorer (version 4.0 or higher). We highly recommend our clients to have anti virus software installed in their PCs , run the live update for the virus definition on a weekly basis and run the latest security patches for Microsoft.

When an investor logs into his account, the encrypted (secure) areas can be easily identified by two characteristics. The first distinction is the location (URL). Pages using encryption will have URLs that begin with https:// (instead of http://). The second characteristic is the key icon that appears in the lower right corner of the browser. The servers also use "cookie" technology to ensure the account's confidentiality and security, to make it easier for users to navigate through the Internet site, and to enable them to create customized information on the Internet site based on input they decide, including model portfolios.

Quotes for OTCBB securities are not guaranteed as the securities are traded manually, therefore, real time quote information or even firm quotes may not be available. Investors should also be aware that frequent symbol changes and deletions might occur in the market. Before placing an order for an OTCBB security, please take the time to carefully research the company and examine your investment objectives.

Q30-       When looking at the status of my online trades, what do the order status codes mean?

A-        When you submit your trade through AlAhlibrokerage.com the trade is sent for execution. You would be able to track your order by going to “ Order Status” tab.

Below are the definitions of all status codes:

  • Pending: Your order has been queued to be sent to the market for execution.

  • Open: Your order has been sent to the market

  • Partial: Part of your order has been executed and the rest of your order is still “Open”

  • Executed: your entire order has been filled or ”executed”

Q31-       My portfolio has disappeared. Where is it and how can I get it back?

A-         When you create your own portfolio you are creating a “cookie” file which is refreshed each time you view your portfolio. This “cookie” file is stored in your hard drive. Therefore, you can only view your portfolio on the same computer which you created your portfolio in.  You will lose your portfolio that you create if you do the following:
  • Change or upgrade your browser

  • Change or upgrade your operating system

  • Disable “cookies”

Q32-       How do I access my account for the first time?

A-        To access your account, simply click on “Log In”. You will be asked to enter your User ID and Password. Upon receiving your application we will send you a welcome email with instructions regarding activating your account. The first time you access AlAhlibrokerage.com you will be prompted to change your password.

Q34-       What does it mean when it says your account is a "cash account"?

A-        In cash accounts, we do not give margin facility for the clients. The client can use only the cash available in his or her account for trading on daily basis. As per the market rules and regulations all trades should be settled in three days. This means that you have to have the cash in your account to cover the cost of all the buy transactions you make (executed) and the cost of open buy orders, day orders and GTC. Cash accounts mean also that the number of times you can use your cash available in trading (buying & selling) in a single trading day is limited to one time. Violation of this rule will result in restriction on your account.

Q35-       What is a 90-day restriction?

A-      When your account is on 90 day restriction, you can only use the cash available in your account (cash that is settled in your account).

For example, if you sell a stock from your portfolio, it takes three days to settle the transaction. When your account is on 90 day restriction the cash generated from the selling of the stock can’t be used to place buy orders until settlement (three days) where in normal account condition you can use the cash generated the next day or same day in some cases.

Q36-       What is Rule 382?

A-        New York Stock Exchange Rule 382 requires the disclosure of NCB’s relationship with certain correspondents that provide services to or maintain accounts with NCB or its customers in the form of a Rule 382 Disclosure Statement. The Rule 382 Disclosure Statement also describes the terms and conditions on which NCB and its correspondents may maintain and administer margin accounts, including important information regarding margin policies and interest rates. Please click here to review a copy of the Rule 382 Disclosure Statement.
